WHAT ARE CHAKRAS?
- The word Chakra comes from the Sanskrit word “wheel” or “disk” and that is exactly what they are, spinning energy vortices within the body. The chakras are not physically detectable in the body, they form part of the subtle energy system which forms the basis of an ancient Indian approach to healing our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves.
- The energy is traditionally depicted as lotus flowers, each resonating at different frequencies, corresponding to the colours of the rainbow. Each Lotus flower is positioned with the stem metaphysically embedded into the spinal column or sushumna, from the coccyx to the crown of the head
- The traditional Hindu system names seven major chakras that can be sensed in the aura (electromagnetic energy field) of a person.
- An Aura is a pulsating field of energy that surrounds every living thing. It emanates colour relating to the health of the life form it is surrounding.
- The Aura is banded in layers around the physical body and contains within it information, relating to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being of the individual. It is constantly fluctuating, moving according to our physical energy levels (Bio Rhythms) thoughts, emotions and spiritual evolution at any given time.
- The Aura accesses its energy from a Universal life force known as Chi or Prana.
- The Chakras feed Universal energy to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the human body. Each Chakra has its own frequency and colour which is individual to the energy that the chakra supplies, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
- The sushumna is the vertical column within which the seven chakras are located. The sushumna channels the universal energy to and from the crown and base chakra, moving the energy from side to side like a snake, connecting all the chakras. This journey is known as the “Kundalini rising”. The energy vortices of the chakras rotate in different directions with the movement of the Kundalini energy.
- The Chakras act like a series of valves in a system connecting a water tap to a garden hose. Once the tap is turned on the water should flow smoothly through the system. However if there is a kink (blockage of the energy) the whole unit will be affected. This would create a depletion of energy from certain chakras and an over energising of others.
- Crystal healing unblocks and balances the chakras allowing the movement of Kundalini energy, creating a state of peace, love and harmony on the mind , body and spirit.
